Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our premium oak doors and delivery services.

What is the difference between solid oak and engineered oak doors?

Solid oak doors are made from continuous pieces of oak timber, offering traditional weight and feel. Engineered oak doors feature a solid core with a real oak veneer, providing enhanced stability and resistance to warping in centrally heated homes.

How should I store my doors before installation?

Doors should be stored flat on a level surface in a dry, well-ventilated room. Avoid leaning them against walls for long periods and keep them away from damp areas or rooms with fresh plaster to prevent moisture absorption.

Do you offer nationwide delivery and how much does it cost?

Yes, we deliver across the UK. Shipping costs are calculated based on your postcode and the weight of your order. Standard delivery typically takes 3-5 working days, with express options available for select items.

Do I need to treat or finish my oak doors?

Unless specified as 'Pre-finished,' our doors are supplied unfinished. We recommend applying a high-quality wax, oil, or varnish immediately after delivery to seal the wood and protect it from moisture and sunlight.

What is your return policy if I am not satisfied?

We offer a 14-day return policy for standard stock items, provided they are in their original packaging and have not been hung, cut, or treated. Bespoke or made-to-measure doors are non-returnable unless faulty.

Can I trim the doors to fit my existing frame?

Most of our oak doors allow for trimming. Generally, you can trim up to 10mm from each side and 10mm from the top and bottom, but we advise checking the specific technical specifications for each door model.
